This facility includes both centralized programs serving all of the desert region as well as outpatient services for Indio. The regional services include:
The Psychiatric Evaluation Team (PET) unit provides emergency services, crisis intervention, information and referral, and 5150 involuntary assessment from 8 Am through 12 midnights, 7 days a
week. Indio offers an Intensive Brief Treatment (IBT) group. These groups offer intensive Outpatient treatment for clients with urgent needs and/or in a crisis situation,
using an efficient and flexible approach that is easier for clients.
The Indio Mental Health Clinic includes services for all age groups. The Child/Adolescent Clinic provides
individual, family and group services. Adult Outpatient Services provide treatment for severely and persistently
mentally ill clients including individual and group counseling, case management, crisis resolution and chemical
dependency treatment. An Older Adult Program provides these same services to older adults from the Coachella
Valley. The CalWORKS program provides treatment for GAIN clients under the Welfare Reform Act “Back to Work”
program. The Forensics program provides psychiatric services to the mentally ill inmates at the Indio County Jail.

Provides outpatient mental health services to severely, acutely, or persistently mentally ill adults,
children, adolescents and older adults. Substance/alcohol abuse treatment is provided for children,
adolescents, and adults. Services may include assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group
counseling, medication, case management referral, and consultation. The clinic also provides forensic
services to the Blythe Jail and a Drug Court program.

Desert Adult Full Service Partnership

The Desert Adult FSP will serve adults between the ages of 16 and 59
with severe and persistent mental illness, homeless or at risk of
homelessness. Additional criteria can include the following: a history of
unsuccessful housing placements, and/or three or more psychiatric
hospitalizations in the last twelve months, and/or unsuccessful engagement
in outpatient treatment. The Desert Adult FSP will serve 130 members,
including those in a 25 bed housing unit adjacent to the Clinic, and
including 23 members in Blythe. The Desert Adult FSP intends
to implement evidenced-based practicies, philosophy and values with the
goal of improving the lives and recovery of the people it serves. It will
provide pharmacological treatment, illness management and recovery skills,
supported employment, integrated dual disorders/co-occuring treatment, and
intensive case management services including exploring permanent housing
options.

An outpatient program for 16-25 year olds living in Riverside County’s
Desert Region who have been referred by the Department of Mental Health as
having a severe persistent mental illness. This program is determined to
reduce, limit or break the cycle of homelessness, hospitalization and/or
incarceration by utilizing fundamental concepts of community
collaboration, cultural competency, a client/family driven mental health
system, and a wellness focus, all within an integrated service
experience.

The Peer Support Center is a mental health program run by the consumers
for the consumers within the Riverside County Mental Health system and
also those who are exiting. It is based upon independence from
professions, voluntary participation and peer to peer support all in a
judgment free atmosphere.
